Halloween

For Halloween, Jen, the roommate, and I decided to hand out candy to the small children of Warrensburg. This was my second year of handing out candy in the dorms. The kids are always cute and very hungry for candy, to say the least. I was just informed today that a picture of me was put up on the digitalburg.com which is the online newspaper for the campus. Jen is in the picture as well but they got her name wrong :( You can check out the article here. But this is the picture that I stole away from them that they did not get legally signed for them to use. :)

Me and Jen (the hippie) and the small children who love candy

That is probably the most exciting thing that has happened since I last updated. I did, however, buy all the stuff I need for my AGD daughter for Initiation. Initiation is this week, so there will be lots of dressing up on campus and freezing to death. We've changed the time frame for initiation so that our actual initiation is on Saturday morning instead of Friday night, so we'll see how this all turns out.

Oh, and I took a test in my family and individual relationships class and got a 100%. So, that's pretty exciting.

Mike and I went up to Kansas City on Thursday (the 6th) to see Underoath and Saosin in concert. The tickets were his Birthday present. That was pretty enjoyable. I'm currently working on my Chemistry paper that is due on Tuesday for my group project. I'm trying to get my homework out of the way, because in about an hour and a half it will be Mike and I's one year anniversary. I'm not quite sure what he has planned, though I did hear something about a campfire? I'll fill you all in later when I know!

Anyway, 11 days until I get back to Anderson, so everyone should be super pumped that I'm coming home. The start of school until Thanksgiving is the longest strech all year, so the wait is almost over :P

I love you all!

Homecoming/Michael's Birthday

What a crazy week. This week I've been busy with campaigning (sadly our canidate didn't win), painting, making door decs, going to the pep rally, and bowling! Oh, and of course, the football game (which, again sadly, we lost in the last 50 seconds of the game). Saturday--Homecoming, was packed with the parade, the game and Michael's birthday! Unfortunately he had to march in the band from 6am to about 5pm. But, the band played well and there was alumni band that came for Homecoming, so that was cute.

I'll probably be contacting some of you for information about my genogram for my Individual and Family Relationships class. It sounds really interesting to me, but there is some specific information I need for it. :)

School is starting to pick up it's pace now that it's the last 5 weeks. I have two group projects, two papers, two tests and a quiz before I get home for Thanksgiving in less than a month. Ugg! Then there's bowling practice and sorority initiation as well. I'm just as on the go as I've ever been. Craziness!

In other news, I have my absentee ballot and my father is on it! How exciting is that?

Also, with initiation coming up I have lots of silly things that I'm supposed to purchase. A sweater, blanket, lavilier, a pin box, and dinner. ugg.

Anyway, I thought it was time for an update while on the go. It's been a while. But, I miss all you Indiana people terribly and I can't wait to see you all soon!! Less than a month!!

Homecoming is Almost Here

Beauty is whatever gives joy. --Edna St. Vincent Millay

Hello!! I thought I'd update while I still have time. Homecoming is approaching fast and AGD's Queen Canadate made it to Top Ten! Her theme is "peace, love, and Sam Jones" We have some nice tie-dye shirts to wear all next week and we're campaigning too! Hopefully, I'll get some good pictures up for you crazy kids to look at!

Things are picking up schoolwise as well. Midterm was last Friday, so now there are papers to write and photography prints to be made. My black and white photography class is really exciting, actually! I've learned some new stuff that I didn't think I would like film speed testing and developing time testing... and density testing! :P I'm sure I could live in the darkroom if they'd let me.

I got a package from Mom a week or so ago! I love getting package slips! haha. It was full of all sorts of little things that I'd left at home like bowling t-shirts, sweatpants, laundry sheet (right after I finally bought a box!!), and my present from Dan and Sara (and Europe)!! It was a pretty exciting box. No lies.

I'll be back home in about a month maybe a little longer. I have a flight home Friday, November 21 and should hit Indiana at about 10:15 PM EST. I get a WHOLE WEEK for Thanksgiving Break this year, so everybody get excited! Ha. Sadly, though, in order to get a direct flight back to Kansas City, I have to leave a day early. So I'll be there from the 21st until the afternoon of the 29th.

Well here is my update! I have to go to Wal-Mart and buy spraypaint to make a Door Dec for the chaper door. Homecoming is almost here!

Love you all!

Don't Vote

So, I just got my first photography test back--I definately only missed 4 points out of 150! Woot.

The past couple days have been fairly eventful. It's PR week, so there's lots of dressing up on campus. But, most importantly my Daughter did her secret thing she had to do to find out I was her mom on Monday night!! Her name is Samantha Duncan, and she's a political science major.

^They get princess stuff :)
^All of our Baby Squirrels ♥

That was pretty exciting. Anyway, we also had an intermural volleyball game on Tuesday. We lost, ha, but at least our girls had a good time. Other than that, I've just been doing homework and going to bowling practice everyday. I'm pretty sure that I get to sign up for Spring semester classes next week, too. This weekend is Family Weekend here on campus. Our football team is 4-1, so it should be a good football game. The AGDs are tailgating! I hope that I get done with bowling in time to grab a hotdog with everyone. Family Weekend is also always the bowling team's first exhibition tournament. The only downside is that it's at 8:30 a.m.

Well, my weekend starts now, since I don't have any classes on Fridays! I just thought I'd leave you with a little political video, since the debate is tonight! [dial-up people, you probably won't be able to watch it very well]

Update

School is hitting semester mid-term, here. I don't think I have anything to worry about, though. I got As on my first two tests (in individual/family relationship & intro to Graphics.)

Sorority recruitment is finally over, but we haven't initiated our new pledges yet. We just pinned them this past Tuesday. I'm taking on a 'baby squirrel' this year, so that should be something exciting and new.

^AGDs on the first day of recruitment

Bowling has finally started up. We're only about 2 weeks in. The first week was only conditioning--weightlifting, cardio, etc. This past week was our first week on the lanes. Our first event is on Family Weekend (Oct 4th); everyone gets to play that day. It's more of an exhibition. Other than that things are going well, bowling-wise; it's easier when you know what's going on as a returning player.
